About Me

I was born in Sweden and immigrated to the United States with my parents when I was young. From there, we moved a round a bit with my dad’s job. I lived in the Middle East for 9 years, and ended up going to four different high schools! This opened my eyes and mind to a variety of different people and cultures, and taught me the value of acceptance and diversity.

Eventually we ended up back in the United States where I attended the University of Washington and graduated with a degree in Psychology. While I felt I might move on and further my education in Psychology, life took me in another direction. I met my husband and we moved out of state for his work. I decided to go back to school for culinary arts, worked in the industry for about 6 years, had kids and taught cooking classes at home after that.

Ultimately, I felt like I wanted to pursue my interest in Psychology. While researching my options, I came across Health and Wellness Coaching. I fell in love with the idea of working with people to foster positive change, create new habits and move forward! After researching programs, I chose the Mayo Clinic Training Program. I got certified by the Mayo Clinic in July 2020. I then took the board exam and became NBHWC certified in December 2020.

I am thrilled to be able to walk alongside my clients as they strive toward living their best lives!

Health and Wellness Coaching is a strength-based approach.

It is based in science and built upon the concepts of Positive Psychology. We are often our own worst critics and don’t see our greatest strengths. No one knows you better than you - you are the expert! Working with a coach helps clarify your best health and wellness vision, creates the intrinsic motivation to get there, and empowers you to nurture your best self.

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t - you’re right.”

 - Henry Ford

Some facts about Me

  • I went to 4 different high schools. This taught me resilience, and an appreciation for a diverse group of people and cultures.

  • I grew up in the Middle East. This was an eye opening experience and fostered my broad view of the world. I am eternally grateful for the lifelong friendships I made.

  • I was in the food business prior to going into coaching. I have worked as a chef, R&D consultant and taught cooking classes. I love cooking for my friends and family!

  • I speak both Swedish (my first language) and English. But I am much better at speaking English than Swedish!

My Calling as a Coach

I felt drawn to helping people find their best selves. I’m an optimist who sees the best in others even when they may not see it themselves. Working with people as they adjust habits and foster new skills is extremely rewarding! When we have a desire to change, working with a coach can make all the difference. That positive, supportive relationship is a catalyst for transformation. Change feels less scary or insurmountable when we have an ally!

I specifically chose the Mayo Clinic Health and Wellness program because I met someone who was enrolled and loving it. The program was a great fit for me!
